Education at Masjid Ibrahim
At the Islamic Association of Ypsilanti (IAY), education is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to nurturing a generation that is grounded in faith, strong in character, and equipped to navigate the world with confidence and purpose.
Our programs are designed to serve children, youth, and adults at every stage of their learning journey, combining traditional Islamic knowledge with practical application in daily life.
Free Sunday Islamic School
Our Weekend School provides a structured and engaging environment for students to learn the foundations of Islam.
Students benefit from:
- Qur’an recitation and memorization (with tajwīd)
- Islamic studies, including ‘aqīdah, fiqh, and sīrah
- Arabic language basics
- Character development rooted in Islamic values
- Classes are age-appropriate and led by dedicated teachers who prioritize both knowledge and tarbiyah (holistic development).
Qur’an Programs
We offer ongoing Qur’an programs for children and adults at various levels.
These include:
- Beginner Qur’an reading (Qa’idah)
- Tajwīd-focused recitation
- Hifdh (memorization) tracks
- One-on-one or small group instruction (subject to availability)
Our goal is to help every student build a lifelong relationship with the Qur’an—reading it correctly, understanding its message, and living by its guidance.
Youth Education & Development
IAY is committed to empowering our youth with knowledge, identity, and leadership skills.
- Programs may include:
- Youth halaqas and discussion circles
- Mentorship and leadership development
- Workshops on relevant social and personal topics
- Community service and engagement opportunities
We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where young Muslims can grow in their faith while building meaningful connections
